This is definitely one of the best events we get to play each year. Played at the beautiful Terrey Hills Golf & Country Club everything about the day is fantastic. The event is organised by a bunch of members who call themselves the WAGS (Wednesday afternoon gatherers),  these guys love everything about golf and love to have a great time. Each WAG invites a Pro to play with, you then both play individual with a 2B Aggregate played on the side.

Terrey Hills off the Tiger tees is a brutal test of golf, a great venue to see where your game is at, simply no room to miss or hit errant shots. I was happy with where my game was at, it had shown some great signs of improvement with the changes we were making and after having a good putting lesson on Saturday I was more confident with how I was rolling the ball.

A good solid start through some of the tougher holes had me feeling good out there, I had hit some good quality shots and created a handful of good birdie opportunities that I had just failed to convert. A couple of soft bogeys had me at +2 through 10 holes but a couple of nice iron shots over holes 11,12 and 13 got me 2 birdies and back to EVEN for the day. By now the wind had picked up a little and was making it a tough finish, a couple of average iron shots on the 2 par 3’s lead to 2 bogeys and I didn’t capitalize on any of the birdie opportunities on the other holes. Finished with a 74(+2), could have been better but was very happy with how my ball striking was throughout the day and although I didn’t hole to many putts on the green was happy with how it rolled.

74 put me in 5th position in the singles event and AJ and myself finished 2nd in the 2B aggregate…overall not a bad afternoon. A big thank you to Anthony Jodrell for the invite I look forward to having another crack next year and finishing 1 spot higher up.

With only 3 weeks now until I fly out to Thailand for Asian Q School my preparations are in full swing, I have 1 more ProAm for the year at Ryde-Parramatta next Thursday and after that I will be continuing to work hard on the game and making sure it is sharp and ready to fire once I land in Thailand.
