After a frustrating day at Chatswood yesterday I was keen to get out to Asquith today. A good warm up session at Play PowerGolf Castle Hill on the indoor range facility beforehand had me feeling good about my swing.
Arriving at Asquith the course looked a picture, after hitting some putts and getting the speed of the greens it was time to get out there.
A good solid start had me feeling positive, I had created some good opportunities and I was feeling in control. Apart from 1 silly 3 putt for bogey on my front 9 I turned in -1. Good chances followed over the next 7 holes however I only managed to convert 1. So standing on the 17th tee I was -2 but felt like I had left a few out there…if only I could have stopped there. Over the final 2 holes I made my 3 worst swings of the day and I made an absolute meal of them, finishing bogey, triple bogey….Aahhh frustrating
Certainly not the way I had intended to finish but the first 16 holes showed me that I am close to putting it all together.
My end result was 72(+2) which put me in T-18th. A good days practice tomorrow before heading up the coast for the Morisset Pro Am on Saturday/Sunday
