After a big week which saw my wife and I welcome our second little girl into the world I headed up the coast to play the JSA Group Merewether ProAm. This event was part of a week of ProAms up the Central Coast/Newcastle region however it was to be my only event for the week. I have always enjoyed playing the course and I  like to support the local pro Peter as my wife worked for him for a few years during her traineeship.

Was unsure what to expect with my game, I felt it had been really good during practice sessions with Gary and in the practice Ihad been doing myself however it was my first competitive round for a few weeks.
The course was presented perfectly and it was a beautiful afternoon for golf which had me excited to get out there.
Got off to a steady start and the swing felt good which put me in a good frame of mind. Throughout the day I drove the ball really well which allowed me to get alot of scoring clubs in my hands from good positions and I managed to take advantage of alot those.
Ended up making 7 birdies against 3 bogeys for a solid round of 66 (-4).
Walking off the course I was happy with how I went but felt it might be 1or 2 shots short for the win…turned out to be correct. The winner shot -6 and runner up was -5, delighted to finish T-3rd though.
Big thanks to all the sponsors for putting on a great event and to the Yamaha Golf Cart boys, Wayne and Rod for an enjoyable afternoon on course.
